Lyrics of the Week – Week 28

Dedicated to Nick Bailey, again, because I’m in love with him.

“It’s All How You Look At It” by Tracy Lawrence

A little boy on a big jet plane
Taking off in the pouring rain,
They’re bouncin’ ’round like a basketball.
He says “Mama what if we fall?”
She looks in those big scared eyes,
“Son think of it like a circus ride”
Next thing you know he’s laughing out loud
Saying “do it again” as the wheels touched down.

[Chorus]
I guess It’s all how you look at it
You might see more than the side that you’re seeing
Turn it upside down and shake it up a bit
It could be a good thing
Its all how you look at it ya ya

Businessman playing air guitar.
He always dreamed he’d be a superstar.
Quits his job and starts singing at night.
Is he giving up his living or taking back his life?

[Chorus]

You’ve got your opinions and I’ve got mine.
Can we agree to agree at least some of the time?
A glass half empty is a glass half full,
And thats what makes life beautiful.

[Chorus until end]
I guess It’s all how you look at it
You might see more than the side that you’re seeing
Turn it upside down and shake it up a bit
It could be a good thing
It’s all how you look at it
It’s all how you look at it
You might see more than the side that you’re seeing
Turn it upside down and shake it up a bit
It could be a good thing
It’s all how you look at it.

My back has flared up over the past week. I had back surgery for a ruptured disc about four and a half years ago, and although I stay in shape, it still hurts at random times. I think I may have bruised my tailbone either during my yoga class or aerobic dance class, which lead to further discomfort. At any rate, I’ve been quite upset for the past few days and decided to break down last night. Always there to revive me was my best friend, Nick Bailey. 🙂 :3 He really is my light at times. He makes me realize what’s important and what doesn’t deserve my tears. He taught me these three simple steps to happiness:

  1. Do what you want.
  2. Don’t stress over stupid shit.
  3. Enjoy yourself.

Each step is self-explanatory. Basically, don’t let others’ opinions affect what you want to do, don’t sweat the small stuff, and have fun!!! Thanks, Nick :). You’re my rock. Also, he just planned the most epic Valentine’s Day ever with me! Too bad he’s in Memphis and I’m in York…..

P.S. May I also suggest the song “Strong” by Tracy Lawrence. It ties into what Nick taught me yesterday.
